Fundraising

BucksVision rely on donations, whether large or small, to raise funds to help blind and partially sighted people lead independent and fulfilling lives. Many of the services we offer today would not exist without the ongoing generosity of members and the general public. Donations are vital if we are to continue to provide our services.

You can make a donation to BucksVision in various ways: simply send a cheque or postal order to BucksVision, become one of our regular supporters and join BucksVision Supporters Scheme or give as you earn. Also you might like to order a collection box and save any spare lose change, mark a special day or arrange a legacy and leave the world a better place.

It’s the time of year for Christmas Cards again! Christmas is rapidly approaching and this year we have 5 beautiful designs of Christmas cards for you to chose from while supporting BucksVision at the same time! The 5 designs include: ‘Red Baubles’ a creative photograph of 3 hanging red baubles; ‘Nativity collage’ a painting of Joseph, Mary and the Crib; ‘Village Christmas’ a painting of a village winter scene; ‘Christmas Post’ a painting of a red post box and robin in the snow; and ‘Waiting for Santa’ a painting of a puppy and cat snuggled amongst Christmas decorations. The packs of ten cards (one design per pack) are available at £3.50 each. All proceeds go to BucksVision. Here is an order form.

Another way to raise funds for BucksVision is to use everyclick.com to search the web and to shop online. Everyclick.com is a search engine that enables you to raise money for your favourite charity at no extra cost to yourself. They have already raised considerable sums for charities nationwide. To start raising money for BucksVision through this search engine, first set up an account free of charge (following these instructions), then start using it to search and shop and it will bring in money automatically.

The more adventurous might like to help us by taking part in a Charity Skydive with Skydive Zone.

For a more sedate way to help us, why not invite your friends to “Come to Lunch!”.

We endeavour to widen our supporters base by linking with businesses. If you work or have contacts with a company that would like to sponsor a charity, please suggest BucksVision or get in touch with Kiera Bentley on telephone 01296 487 556 or by e-mail. Several fundraisers have our thanks and deserve credit for their contributions.

We also need your time, energy, ideas and organisational skills. Can you spare an hour or two, would you be able to run a fundraising event, or do you have fundraising ideas or contacts? Please let us know of any skills that could help generate funds for BucksVision.

BucksVision has joined a new fundraising initiative with Foneaid (http://www.foneaid.org.uk/). For each mobile phone we collect we get £3. We have plastic collection bags to distribute (which we will collect if necessary) and would like as many local businesses, schools and clubs (and anyone else) as possible to help us collect as many mobile phones as possible. Any age or condition of mobile gets us money to enable us to continue helping out our beneficiaries so please help if you can.

Finally, we are no longer requesting normal stamps as our volunteer Pam can no longer prepare them for us. However we would still gladly recieve any rare, foreign, collections, or unusual stamps. Thank you.
