This is an exciting job opportunity for a friendly and empathetic professional to join BucksVision as Eye Clinic Liaison Officer. In this role, you will provide an Information and Advice Service at Stoke Mandeville Hospital (with support to patients at Amersham and Wycombe hospitals). You will be working in the eye clinic offering a person centred support service to blind and partially sighted people, family members and carers at the point of diagnosis.

Each day you will be providing emotional support and raising awareness of services that empower visually impaired people to make informed choices to maintain and develop their independence.

Key to this role will be your excellent communication skills – verbal, written and presentation skills - to effectively communicate with patients, carers, hospital and social care staff.

This role is eligible for an enhanced criminal record check which includes a check of the children's and adults barred lists as the role holder will provide advice and guidance to children which relates to their physical and emotional well being and adults which relates to personal care because of their disability.

BucksVision is a local charity supporting blind and partially sighted people in Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes. We are a registered charity and company limited by guarantee, with an annual turnover of approximately £300k. Since 2014 we are part of the RNIB Group. We run social clubs and training courses across the county for people with sight loss and also have volunteers supporting patients in several eye clinics in Buckinghamshire.
